Christmas :- Dr Charles Stanley
The true meaning of Christmas is love. John 3:16-17 says, "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." The true meaning of Christmas is the celebration of this incredible act of love.
The real Christmas story is the story of God’s becoming a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ. Why did God do such a thing? Because He loves us! Why was Christmas necessary? Because we needed a Savior! Why does God love us so much? Because He is love itself (1 John 4:8). Why do we celebrate Christmas each year? Out of gratitude for what God did for us, we remember His birth by giving each other gifts, worshiping Him, and being especially conscious of the poor and less fortunate.
The true meaning of Christmas is love. God loved His own and provided a way-the only Way-for us to spend eternity with Him. He gave His only Son to take our punishment for our sins. He paid the price in full, and we are free from condemnation when we accept that free gift of love. "But God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8).

    15:55 My immediate honest thought is, why is it okay for the *all knowing* God to put his loyal servants through unnecessary test… he should be familiar with our heart since he truly is all knowing (poor Job comes to mind). However, it is viewed as being wrong/disrespectful to ask God to simply do what he *promised.* Asking a mountain to move & waiting for it’s departure reveals true faith & that of an expectant heart in God’s words.

    🤔🫤 3:05-3:13 How is it even considered “theft” if Esau happily agreed to giving up his birthright to his brother Jacob?

      Both Jacob and Esau were fathers of nations. God changed Jacob’s name to Israel (Genesis 32:28), and he became the father of the 12 tribes of Israel. Esau’s descendants were the Edomites (Genesis 36). Edom was a nation that plagued Israel in later years and was finally judged by God (Obadiah 1:1-21). In the New Testament, Esau’s choice to sell his birthright is used as an example of ungodliness-a “godless” person who will put physical desires over spiritual blessings (Hebrews 12:15-17). By his negative example, Esau teaches us to hold fast to what is truly important, even if it means denying the appetites of the flesh. Both Old and New Testaments use the story of Jacob and Esau to illustrate God’s calling and election. God chose the younger Jacob to carry on the Abrahamic Covenant, while Esau was providentially excluded from the Messianic line (Malachi 1:2-3; Romans 9:11-14).

    😕14:06 Why does someone have to wait to receive their “roses” in the invisible world/Heaven? The almighty God has it backwards. Empathy should be bestowed upon those who can’t seem to catch a break in the visible world. Life is brutal but it’s said that heaven is a paradise.

      Speaking of the nation of Israel, Deuteronomy 7:7-9 tells us, “The LORD did not set His affection on you and choose you because you were more numerous than other peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples. But it was because the LORD loved you and kept the oath He swore to your forefathers that He brought you out with a mighty hand and redeemed you from the land of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt. Know therefore that the LORD your God is God; He is the faithful God, keeping His covenant of love to a thousand generations of those who love Him and keep His commands.” God chose the nation of Israel to be the people through whom Jesus Christ would be born-the Savior from sin and death (John 3:16). God first promised the Messiah after Adam and Eve’s fall into sin (Genesis chapter 3). God later confirmed that the Messiah would come from the line of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob (Genesis 12:1-3). Jesus Christ is the ultimate reason why God chose Israel to be His special people. God did not need to have a chosen people, but He decided to do it that way. Jesus had to come from some nation of people, and God chose Israel. However, God’s reason for choosing the nation of Israel was not solely for the purpose of producing the Messiah. God’s desire for Israel was that they would go and teach others about Him. Israel was to be a nation of priests, prophets, and missionaries to the world. God’s intent was for Israel to be a distinct people, a nation who pointed others towards God and His promised provision of a Redeemer, Messiah, and Savior. For the most part, Israel failed in this task. However, God’s ultimate purpose for Israel-that of bringing the Messiah into the world-was fulfilled perfectly in the Person of Jesus Christ.

    I am Hearing this Message October 26, 2023....I Stopped Watching Television Programming August 27th, 2008 and Now I find it Very difficult to fit in Society and Observe Most Church Congregation just Social Group and Fashion Shows! I WILL CONTINUE TO BEAR MY OWN CROSS.....and SEEK THE DEFINITION OF 👉ALL👈 as in COMMANDMENT #1
